			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Look out for the Christmas in Clifton Event taking place on Friday 3rd December. There’s the Santa’s Grotto at Clifton Library at 2pm with refreshments and fun for the kids.<br />
Local volunteer, Barbara Judd, said: “Come and have a nice hot cup of tea while your kids enjoy the festivities.”<br />
There&#8217;ll be singing round the tree with Glapton and Dovecote both performing again this year &#8211; see them from 3pm.<br />
At 4.30pm, the winners of the Christmas tree decoration colouring competition will be announced. After the Christmas speech from Councillor Malcolm, the winners get to switch on the lights at around 4.45pm. All of this takes place outside the shops on Southchurch Drive.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There are two ‘Santas on the Run’ events taking place in Rushcliffe this year. The first event takes place on Sunday 28th November at 10.30am at Rushcliffe Country Park, located in Ruddington. People are being urged to dress up like Santa to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis (CF). The Cystic Fibrosis Trust has organised the Santa fun run and stroll to raise money for gene therapy research and help the 8,500 young people in the UK who have cystic fibrosis. Registration is £6 or £3 for children and each Santa is asked to raise £35 in sponsorship money. Contact Stephanie Henderson-Barrett on 0300 373 1026 or send an email to<br />

The second event takes place on Sunday 19th December at 11am, and this also takes place at Rushcliffe Country Park. It is an enjoyable 2.5 mile fun run. Everyone is asked to try and raise a minimum of £20 in sponsorship for Rainbows hospice for children and young people.Tickets cost £10 for adults and £7 for children (under-13). The price includes entry and a Santa suit that can be collected on the day.<br />
Santa suits can also be posted at an extra charge of £2.50 per suit. You can also book online by following the links on the website. Log on to rainbows.co.uk.</p>

<p>The Hermitage Pre-school children and staff were very grateful for the donation of £200 from the Shepshed Building Society in October. A presentation was held during one of the sessions and the children were thrilled to be awarded with the big cheque by Cheryl Eames.<br />
The money was spent on art and craft materials to help the children learn about bonfire night, the Diwali Festival of Lights and Christmas.<br />
The Pre-school are holding their annual fundraising Christmas Fair on Saturday 27th November from 10am until 12.30pm at St Peter&#8217;s Rooms. There’ll be mince pies, Santa, games, raffle and a chocolate tombola.</p>

<p>Buy a ticket for the Christmas raffle which will be drawn later in the day at the Royal Oak, where there will be a complimentary glass of mulled cider to keep out the cold. You might win one of the spectacular prizes donated by the local businesses. All proceeds are going to a local charity, so join in and you may pick up a bargain while being part of Christmas on the Terrace.</p>
