LOCAL DIARY
Tuesday 9th June
South Notts Flower Club are meeting at Edwalton Church Hall on
Wellin Lane in West Bridgford from 7.30pm. Lorena Dyer will be
the special guest speaker for this month.
Saturday 13th June
There’s a Family Fun Day from 7pm being held at the British
Legion in Radcliffe. Tickets are £2 on the gate and children
can go for free.
Saturday 20th June
There’s a Summer Fair at Westdale Care Home at 129 Melton Road
from 2.30-4.30pm. Various stalls will be on offer for the
young and old (Westdale is a charitable organisation).
Saturday 20th June
Keyworth Arts Association are playing host to
Cantamus Junior Choir at 7.30pm in the De La Beche Theatre at
the British Geological Survey. There are limited tickets
available (priced £5-£8) from Keyworth Library, the Post
Office, or by calling 0115 937 2796.
Friday 3rd July
As part of Cropwell Bishop’s Annual Celebration, there’s a
‘Music for a Summer Evening’ concert in St Giles Church in the
village from 7.30pm. Tickets are available from the church
itself, or the cabin at a cost of £5 (children free).
Friday 3rd July
The Radcliffe-on-Trent British Legion are holding a Grand
Charity night ‘Help the Heroes’ from 8pm until late. There’s a
superb night of entertainment and tickets cost £2 and are
available from the British Legion Club.
Saturday 4 July
There’s an arts and crafts exhibition at Cropwell Bishop
Methodist Church from 10am till 5pm. Coffee is served between
10am and 12noon, with light lunches 12noon until 2pm.
Saturday 4th July
There’s a Summer Fair at South Wilford School on Main Street
in Wilford from 11am-2pm. There’s a bouncy castle,
entertainment and a BBQ.
Saturday 4th July
A Summer Fair takes place at Jesse Gray Primary School on
Musters Road from 12-2pm. Entrance is just £2 per family.
Saturday 4th July
There’s a Music and Firework Spectacular ‘Picnic in the Park’
at The Memorial Park in Cropwell Bishop. There’s fireworks,
refreshments and bands. Gates open at 5.30pm with fireworks at
10pm. Tickets available from the Post Office and for more

Saturday, 4th July
The Sinfonia Choral will be performing an ‘American Concert’
at West Bridgford Methodist Church on Musters Road. Tickets
cost £8 for adults and £4 for concessions (full-time students
and Under 21’s) and are available by telephoning 0115 960
6236.
Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July
The annual Thrumpton Flower Festival takes place from 1-5pm
(both days). There’s flower displays in the church, open
gardens and ploughman’s lunches. On Sunday at 6pm there’s a
special Songs of Praise.
Sunday 5th July
Edwalton Primary School on Wellin Lane hold their their Summer
Fayre from 11.30am-3.00pm. Admission is £1 per adult (children
free). There’s plenty of activities for all the family.
Sunday 5th July
There’s a teddy bear parachute jump at 12noon from the tower
of St Giles Church in Cropwell Bishop. Bring your own teddy
and parachute. Refreshments available.
Thursday 9th July
Kathleen Laurel Sage in the special guest for the West
Bridgford Embroiderers’ Guild meeting at St Paul’s
Church Hall on Boundary Road from 7pm.
Saturday 11th July
St. Paul's Church is holding its annual Summer Fair from
2.30-4.30pm. This year's chosen charities are Macmillan Cancer
Support and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust Neonatal
Scanner Appeal.
Saturday 11th July
The Lady Bay Primary School Summer Fair will take place in the
school playground from 4-7pm.
Adults cost £1 and children admitted free.
Saturday 11th July
The theme for Radcliffe on Trent’s Charity Carnival is ‘Go
Wild’ and stalls are still available to voluntary or
charitable groups and procession entries are welcome. More
