APRIL & MAY LOCAL DIARY

Tuesday 15th April
Edwalton Women’s Institute are holding their AGM and a Silent Auction at Edwalton Church Hall from 7.30pm

Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th April
West Bridgford Methodist Church are celebrating 120 years in West Bridgford. On the Saturday the church is open 10am until 4pm for an exhibition and at 7.30pm there’s a Church Family Concert. On Sunday at 10.30am there’s a Celebration Service followed by a coffee and light lunch.

Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th April
It’s Lady Bay Gardens Weekend. Ten gardens are open from 2-6pm each day. The garden trail starts at the Scout Hut on the Corner of Mona Road and Trent Boulevard. £1.50 admits you to all participating gardens.

Saturday 26th April

A special Charity Dance is taking place at Colston Bassett Village Hall entitled Bernie the Blacksmith. There’s Ballroom, Latin and Sequence dancing and all proceeds go to charity. For more information please call 01949 875 340.

Monday 28th April
Ron Wilson is leading a talk entitled ‘But I Can’t Draw’ for the West Bridgford Women’s Institute. It takes place at St Paul’s Church Hall on Boundary Road from 8pm. Doors open 7.30pm.

Monday 28th April to Friday 3rd May
Ruddington Bowls club are holding open evenings from 6.30-8.30pm. Come along and see what the game of bowls is like. They will provide the bowls if you would like to have a go.Tea and biscuits will be available. For details call 0115 914 6707.

Sunday 4th & Monday 5th May
Kinoulton Art Exhibition takes place at Kinoulton Village Hall from 10am until 4.30pm each day. This will include Villagers’ Craft Fair including refreshments (light lunches). For more details call 01949 81563.

Tuesday 6th May
Nottinghamshire Footpaths Preservation Society will embark on Bluebell Walk around Lea and Holloway. Meet at the Lea Rhododendron Gardens car-park at 10.30am. Call 0115 920 5110 for more details.

Tuesday 13th May
Sharon Badger holds a talk for South Notts Flower Club entitled ‘Roses and Castles’. It takes place at Edwalton Church Hall on Wellin Lane at 7.30pm.

Saturday 17th May
A charity concert in aid of the British Red Cross takes place at the Royal Concert Hall, It will be compered by Anne Davies of BBC East Midlands Today. Includes songs from the shows, a Russian sabre Dance and Can-Can. Call 0115 989 5555 for more details.

Tuesday 20th May
Edwalton Women’s Institute meet at Edwalton Church Hall on Wellin Lane from 7.30pm. Carol Allison will hold a talk on Bromley House (one of Nottingham’s earliest libraries).
