NEW BOOK FOR BINGHAM AUTHOR
Bingham author Peter Youds has just published a new book about the extraordinary events in Spain 200 years ago when, in a few short hours, local Nottinghamshire soldiers went from being the toast of the army to the scoundrels of Europe.
‘The Blast of War’, the fifth novel in Peter’s acclaimed Ties of Blood series, continues to recount the romance and adventure of the redcoats’ war against Napoleon. In particular, the story details the amazing events of the siege of Badajoz – telling the tale of bravery and gallantry quickly yielding to disgrace and dishonour.
Peter said: “The Sherwood Foresters were right at the heart of the action, both good and bad. The true history of what happened in 1812 is extraordinary. It’s my job to bring out the drama of it all in a way that really hooks the reader.”
