FREE SWIMMING LESSONS FOR OVER 50S

Nottingham City Council is continuing its offer of free courses of swimming lessons to city residents aged over 50. These swimming lessons, which continue in February and March, are funded in partnership with Age UK’s Fit as a Fiddle Programme.
The lesson blocks are available at Clifton Leisure Centre on a Monday until 12th March 2012.
Councillor David Trimble said: “These lessons offer a great opportunity for anyone who’s a bit nervous or scared of the water and can also prove to be a great social activity.
“Swimming is such a great form of exercise and a fun family activity, so we hope that anyone taking part in these lessons will find it really rewarding. For anyone that doesn’t qualify for these sessions, there are adult swimming lessons available through our Nottingham Swim School Programme. Our pools also offer 60+ or adult swimming sessions.”
Places on the swimming lessons must be booked in advance by calling Age UK on 0115 919 4877.
