ANYONE HEARD THE NOISY PLANES IN BRIDGFORD?
Has anyone else notice the noisy planes in West Bridgford lately? For the past few weeks there have been low-flying noisy aeroplanes at all hours of the day, but especially in the evening from 8-11pm. They seem to be mostly heading east from East Midlands Airport (EMA). It is getting to be a real nuisance and speaking to EMA only gets a photocopied circular saying “we monitored it and no rules were broken”.

Yes, I have noticed this and have wondered for a while whether this is ad-hoc re-routing or whether new routes have been introduced. I recall visiting friends in East Leake a few years ago thinking how low planes are, and thinking how grateful not to have this problem considering the close proximity we are, but something has changed in the last 12-months or more because this is gradually getting worse.
I’ve never complained but there does seem to be more noisy airplanes in the evenings now than there was a few years ago and some of them are really low over Lady Bay. It isn’t nice because it is an unpleasant disturbance. The planes should take off over less built up areas.
i have noticed these noisy planes coming over burton, in the mornings around half 9. they sound like tranporter planes, loud and drone on for ages before out of earshot. they are actually becoming my alarm clock!!! EMA need to at least explain why this is happening, another one just went over, thats been an hour now. seem low also.
