MOROCCO TRIP FOR BRIDGFORD DANCE STUDENT

Amy Daniels, a 12-year-old student of the Leonard School of Dance Ltd in West Bridgford, was selected along with 10 other girls from around the country, to travel to Morocco with dancers of the Royal Ballet Company. Royal Ballet dancer, Francesca Filpi, co-ordinated the very special trip and the aim was to introduce classical ballet to local people and to perform in an open-air gala.
Prior to leaving for Morocco, Amy took part in rehearsals at the Royal Ballet Company studios at the Royal Opera House, located in Covent Garden. She worked with Liam Scarlett, who is one of the Company’s renowned choreographers. Whilst in Morocco, Amy also assisted the Royal Ballet dancers with workshops for local and underprivileged children. The group were based in the coastal town of Essaouira, where Amy took part in Company class with the Royal Ballet dancers each day
