AWARD FOR BUS GARAGE
Nottingham City Transport’s Gotham Garage has won the award for ‘Top National Bus Depot’ at this year’s acclaimed UK Bus Awards. The NCT team were presented with their award at the London Hilton Hotel during a special ceremony attended by over 650 industry figures.
Gotham is NCT’s smallest garage and its buses serve the Clifton area. It boasts big achievements, including high customer satisfaction scores and passenger growth up by 11% this year.
Established in 1926, the Gotham team pride themselves on their family ethos, with everyone pulling together to deliver high standards of service to customers.
NCT’s assistant garage manager at Gotham, Chris Windsor Beck, said: “The team spirit within the depot and the dedication of our staff to give passengers the best, most reliable, friendly service is second to none.
“It feels brilliant to walk away with first prize. I am extremely proud of the recognition our team has received with this award.”
NCT marketing manager, Anthony Carver-Smith, added: “This year, we’ve spent £6.4m on new buses and also introduced passengers to our real-time technology. They can now see when exactly their bus will arrive at their specific stop, and improved the frequency of our services.
“So, to be officially awarded the best depot in the UK, and to be recognised as the best city operator in England, is an achievement we’re really proud of.”
