MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH SOCIETY
I completely agree with Mark’s comment (Local News – August) and cannot stand the reaction of people who are quite obviously in the wrong. I have three children seats in my car and have a disabled badge for my son, who has cerebral palsy. If they aren’t in the car with me, I will park in the furthest space away from the entrance to avoid taking a space I shouldn’t – only to... Read More
EVERYONE WANTS GOOD PARKING
I agree that Morrisons’ customers with small children do need more space for prams and pushchairs, but everyone likes to park as near to the store as possible, especially when it is raining. Why do the family parking spaces need to be so close to the front? If they were at the far end, further from the danger of passing cars, surely everyone would be happy? Tony Read More →
THINGS AREN’T SO BAD
To all these people slating Morrisons in Clifton, saying the Bulwell one was cheaper etc. I think you’ll find that Morrisons have the same prices in all stores regardless of size or location. Also I find them as cheap as any other big supermarket, it just depends on what offers they have on, as with all supermarkets. All prices are rising in all supermarkets as with the VAT increase, increases... Read More
STOP USING THE BUS LANE
What is it with the drivers that drive down the the bus lane during the restricted times? I adhere to the rules and need to go straight on into the Grove Estate, yet I find it hard to get into the correct lane due to speeding cars driving in the bus lane coming up to the lights on Farnborough Road, even though it is the last stretch the rules still apply. It needs to be policed and tickets issued Christine... Read More

SEPTEMBER GARDENING NOTES
By John Draper Most Septembers are blessed with a spell of ‘Indian Summer’ weather, when high temperatures deny the fact that autumn is just around the corner and we have hit the high spot of mellow fruitfulness. Rainfall will be a regular feature, usually in heavy downpours accompanied by thunder and lightning. Beds and Borders If autumn is a lean time in your flower borders, fill the gaps... Read More
THE LITTLE STRANGER (SARAH WATERS)
By Jeff Day We’re not sure about this book but we think maybe that’s the point. Don’t get us wrong, we liked it, we liked it a lot, but is it ambiguous or is it unambiguous? We’re not sure. It’s the ending you see; it’s open to interpretation… ‘The Little Stranger’ by Sarah Waters has a supernatural flavour to it: people living in a big desolate house with spooky things going...
