GREEN BIN CHARGING ISSUE

Regarding the issue of Rushcliffe Borough Council charging for green bin emptying,
I’m pretty certain that I already pay within my Band D. However let’s do our sums, £25 for 25/26 fortnightly collections – that works out at £1 a time.
From about mid-November to mid-March the bin doesn’t go out, say eight times, then we have £25 for 18 collections, now it’s £1.40 a time. How many people with maybe a tiny grass patch put their bins out fortnightly? Effective cost per collection goes up.
I suggest that two or three neighbours, especially in roads of pensioners, share a bin with one paying. This could cut the cost to £12 or even £8 per year and still recycle green waste. And what about the ‘carbon footprint’? The same gas-guzzling cart will come into my cul-de-sac for possibly one or two bins.
