PLAYROOM NURSERY IS ‘OUTSTANDING’

The Playroom Nursery in West Bridgford has real reason to celebrate following Ofsted’srecent unannounced visit, asthe nursery has received an outstanding nomination.
Owner-manager, Helen Luddington, said: “I am absolutely delighted with this outcome, which is a real credit to the whole team – staff, children and families. It reflects the hard work that we all put in to making the nursery such a successful and happy place for our children.”
The Ofsted report recognised that “children’s individual needs and uniqueness are acknowledged through exceptional adult support, highly effective procedures and robust working practice”. They also saw that “staff possess an extensive understanding as they meticulously implement the Early Years Foundation Stage and subsequently children are highly motivated and enthusiastic in their play.”
Helen, who manages the nursery and two kids clubs in West Bridgford, was one of the first individuals who successfully achieved ‘Early Years Professional Status’. She is a great believer in ensuring children have the best start in life. She enthusiastically encourages her team to continuously strive for better things through their own practice and development and makes sure that they have the correct support to achieve high goals.
Staff member, Melissa Ryan, said of the inspection: “I felt good, I continued to do what I have been doing in our routines and the inspector listened as I sat and read stories with the children.”
Milly Fielding, a senior keyworker, added: “I quite surprised at how normal the day went and we achieved outstanding by not acting any different, apart from a few nerves.”
