RUSHCLIFFE LEISURE CENTRE REOPENS

Rushcliffe Swimming Pool has reopened after closing at the end of last year for a refurbishment. The work has been jointly funded by Parkwood Leisure and Rushcliffe Borough Council and the pool has undergone a number of changes…

  • - The pool filters have been replaced in the plant room. This work includes the fitting of an ultra violet lighting system, that will be the primary disinfectant for the pool water. This will enhance the water quality as UV treatment is more effective against all micro-organisms. It provides excellent water quality and a more pleasant bathing environment. Less chemicals are required when using the UV system and it reduces the amount of chlorine used making the water a lot better for people with skin conditions.
  • - The air handling units have been refurbished and this will enhance the pool environment as well.
  • - The pool surround  has been repainted.
  • - The pool tank has been recoated and lines repainted.
  • - Toys in the under-eight’s area have refurbished and some new interactive toys have been installed.
  • - The poolside cubicles have been replaced by more up-to-date changing facilities.
  • - The lighting in the village areas and poolside toilets has also been upgraded and the blue carpet replaced with new flooring.
