RECORD DEAL FOR RUDDINGTON’S JOE
Christmas came early for Joe Knight from Ruddington and his barbershop quartet, when they signed a £1 million record deal with a leading label. The 25-year-old, a police admin worker, sings baritone with the Great British Barbershop Boys, who attracted Sony’s attention at the International Barbershop Convention in Philadelphia. However, Joe who lives with his wife Emma in the village, won’t be giving up his day job at the Criminal Justice Unit.
He said: “I haven’t been talking about what I’ve been up to in case people think I’m boasting. I’ve been sitting on this little secret and I’m now looking forward to going back to work and finally chatting to everyone about it all.”
The Great British Barbershop Boys release their Debut album, Christmas Time, on Monday 6th December 2011.
