LOCAL SISTERS GO HEAD-TO-HEAD

Two Rushcliffe-based sisters went head-to-head to win a place in a national competition at the 02 Arena and a breakthrough recording contract. Elena and Stephanie Hargreaves wowed the crowd and judging panel at the Open Mic UK Regional Showcase, and they are now one step away from the 02 Arena final in January 2011.
They first have to come through the area final in Wakefield next month. Open Mic UK is the exciting national talent competition which searches for the UK’s best singers, singer/songwriters, rappers and vocalists. It’s open to all genres and acts can perform a cover or original material.
The sisters are very close and consider each other best friends and both have said they will be happy if at least one can get through to the final, and a chance of a two-year recording contract.
