TIME FOR LARK IN THE PARK
The award-winning Lark in the Park will wow the crowds once again in Rushcliffe on Wednesday 4th August. This year’s annual celebration, to mark national playday, will take place in Bridgford Park from 10am until 4pm. This fun-filled family day organised by Rushcliffe Borough Council features a host of attractions, most of which are free.
Rushcliffe will be celebrating with a Robin Hood themed day with pageantry, street theatre and craft activities all dedicated to the noble outlaw. Join the band of merry men as Bridgford Park is turned into a medieval fortress. Learn more about what life was like for Robin Hood, why he chose to take from the rich and give to the poor and hear about how the justice system would deal with Robin today.
The Knights of the Crusade will be galloping into action to take centre stage in their dramatic portrayal of the Tales of Richard the Lionheart. Be part of the action with colourful banners and fanfares, as the crowds watch the heroic fighting. Delight in the folly of the court jesters as they entertain with their tricks and tumbles. Sharpen jester skills at the jester workshops held throughout the day.
