ROTARY AWARDS FOR LOCAL YOUNGSTERS
The Rotary Clubs of Bingham, Keyworth & Ruddington, Trent Bridge and West Bridgford joined together to recognise the work of young people in Rushcliffe and South Nottinghamshire, which culminated in a Rotary Young Citizen Award presentation ceremony at the Country Cottage Hotel in Ruddington
Hosted by Sandra Morrey, president of the Rotary Club of West Bridgford, the assembled group of candidates, parents, supporters and Rotarians, listened intently to what the nominees had achieved in our community.
Every young person received a parchment certificate to add to their school Record of Achievement, a valuable document when applying for higher education or jobs. The nominations were considered by a team of four adults with no connections to any candidate, chaired by Rotarian Trevor Greaves, who is also a magistrate. Choosing between the candidates was a major task, but three young people, Daniel Brown (16), Becky Howie (16) and Joe Wright (17), were nominated overall winners.
The achievements of the other young people were also highly commended, including Nathan Ledger (17), Olivia Cottee (14), Joanna Hudspeth (15), Tanicha Simpson (15), Keelan Barker (16), Shaun Bentley (16), Yusaf Paterson-Mosafeer (18) and Kieran Robinson (15).
