IT’S SAMBA TIME IN RUSHCLIFFE
The United Schools Samba Band took to the stage at Arnold Carnival last month for the first of the three carnivals they are playing this summer. The United Schools Samba Band is run by Tony Barber, who is the percussion teacher at Dayncourt School. The band combines four different schools; Dayncourt,
Toothill, Redhill and Carlton le Willows.
A band spokesperson said: “It was a lovely day with the sun shining. Thousands ofpeople attended the Arnold Carnival and it was clear that many of them enjoyed watching the Samba Band perform on the Saturday afternoon.
“It was an amazing experience for all our students, performing to such a big crowd. Performing at events such as this really makes all the hard work our musicians put in each week worthwhile and it gives them an experience that they will never forget.”
