KEYWORTH UNITED HOPING FOR WORLD CUP SUCCESS

Keyworth United are hoping that the World Cup will provide them with a major boost. Back in March they launched their special World Cup prediction competition online at worldcupcompetition.co.uk, hoping to capture the imagination of football fans from far and near and raise some valuable funds for the club.
The competition asks fans to predict the teams to come out of the groups at South Africa 2010 and then map their route to the final. The website is really easy to use and entries can either be made online or by post.
The competition winner will be the person whose set of predictions is most accurate and, in the event of a tie, guesses closest to the total number of goals that will be scored altogether at the World Cup. The £100 first prize is a token motivation, but that’s nothing compared to beating family and friends.
This competition is part of Keyworth United’s current fundraising drive to improve its facilities. It is one of the oldest teams in Nottinghamshire, founded in 1904 and currently has 22 teams for boys, girls and adults. The adult team plays in the Notts Senior League and has produced a handful of Football League players over the years.
The club plays at a site just outside the village and is currently improving the quality of facilities to further develop its football work with local youngsters for years to come. Support from the Football Foundation and other partners is helping with the development of a new first team pitch and clubhouse.
