CREATIVE GREENHOUSE RUSHCLIFFE
Artists in the borough of Rushcliffe are being offered free help and advice to turn their hobbies and passions into a growing business. A project which provides business advice and networking to creative workers is moving into the area. The Creative Greenhouse runs events, training courses and supports people looking to grow a creative business.
The scheme already operates in large parts of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire and is funded by local councils. The Creative Greenhouse is a non-profit making organisation. It has been set up to encourage creative businesses in the region to grow and to make a bigger contribution to the economy.
Paul Hough a director of the Creative Greenhouse, said: “We’ve been operating in parts of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire for five years. I’m delighted that funding from Nottinghamshire County Council means we now cover the Rushcliffe area too.
“We know there are a lot of artists working here and are hoping that they will join up. Our members work in almost every area of the creative industries, we have painters, sculptors, web-designers, film-makers and craft-workers.
The Creative Greenhouse has 350 members. In the last three months it has staged sessions on marketing, how to price work and how to get publicity.
Paul Hough added: “Membership is free, and all our events are free to members too.
“In addition, you become part of a growing artistic community. That gives you the chance to meet people in the same position as you. But it’s also a freelance directory which gives you access to people offering services you might need.”
