WHY WASTE OUR TAXES
I read with interest a recent letter (Local News – April) from a reader about his thoughts for Clifton Hall. Robert Brooks suggests the local fire and police service should be housed in Clifton Hall.
It all seems a bit over the top to me. Surely the various authorities (police, fire, council) could spent their money on improving their services, rather than being housed in some grand old home.
Besides, as he mentions there are already plans for a new police station in Clifton, and more in the heart of the action where it needs to be. His plans sound crazy to me and a waste of tax payers money.

IT’S NO WASTE OF MONEY
I am writing with reference to M. Smith’s letter (Local News – May). How can he or she believe that better facilities for our local police, fire, ambulance and council services is a waste of money?
Surely having them all under one roof, and a building that already exists, makes much more sense than having them dotted around all over the place. I think it’s a great idea to house them all at Clifton Hall.
