HEALTHY LIVING AND CRICKET4LIFE

A new healthy living initiative called Cricket4Life was launched at Trent Bridge Cricket Ground this week. The new programme coincides with the government’s Cook4Life scheme, and gives school children practical cooking skills and the knowledge they need to improve their fitness.
The initiative uses the prestige and facilities of Trent Bridge Cricket Ground to inspire young people to make positive choices about their lifestyle.
Wicket! centre manager, Claire Kiggins, said: “There is a lot of interest in the national obesity strategy and we wanted to link into it and reinforce the key messages to the pupils that visit
the centre.
“The programme of events includes classroom sessions and practical learning in the professional kitchen with the Trent Bridge chefs and the children have enjoyed taking part. Participants also enjoyed a tour of the ground and took part in a cricket coaching session.”
