BRIDGFORD YOUNGSTER TO TRAIN WITH ENGLAND RUGBY LEGEND
Two Nottingham youngsters have won a once in a lifetime training session with former England captain, Lawrence Dallaglio, and one of them is from West Bridgford. The pair took part in Sacla’ Rugby festivals at Kesteven RFC and Nottingham Boots RFC last month.
Calum Gunn from West Bridgford and Nottingham’s Gerard Milano joined hundreds of fellow rugby players aged between 10 and 18 at the festivals, which are being supported by Sacla’, the Pesto Pioneers, and were excited to receive the call-up to be coached by Dallaglio at an exclusive national training session at Twickenham next month.
Calum (17) said: “I was surprised, but thrilled to win the prize and I am very excited about having a day at Twickenham. I look up to Lawrence, as well as my other rugby heroes Jonny Wilkinson and Daniel Carter.”
Dallaglio added: “I can’t wait to meet Calum and Gerard at the national training session and am delighted that they have shown the attributes required to join me at Twickenham.
“These festivals are all about upholding the core values of the game, and ensuring that thousands of kids across the country are encouraged to spend more time playing sport. It’s great that through these festivals and the national training session, we have the chance to pass on these important values.”
