HIGH SHERIFF COMMENDS COTGRAVE BEAT TEAM
The now former High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire has commended Cotgrave beat team’s ‘service and dedication’. High Sheriff Michael Rowen accompanied the team on patrol in Cotgrave recently to learn more about local policing. Mr Rowen, who retired from his historical position after the visit, experienced how a police station operates and saw first hand the work carried out by the beat team in the community.
While on patrol, officers executed a warrant to search an address in Hickling Way, Cotgrave, and found cannabis and amphetamines. A 33-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of production and intent to supply drugs.
Mr Rowen said: “Being on patrol with the team offered a fascinating insight into how policing works on the front line. The officers work tirelessly every day and I felt they should be recognised for everything they do. This is at least a small acknowledgement of their service and dedication.”
Amy Billington, acting Sergeant of the Rushcliffe South area, added: “The beat team welcomed the opportunity to go out on patrol with the High Sheriff.”
