FOOTWAY CONSTRUCTION SCHEME FOR BINGHAM

Essential footway reconstruction is taking place on the A52 between the Bingham Petrol Station and the New Lane, Whatton junction until Friday 12th March. The full resurfacing and reconstruction work will take place on the eastbound carriageway, where the footway is showing signs of cracking. Activity will be carried
out overnight from 8pm to 6am to minimise disruption to road users.
Traffic management will be in place for the 1km stretch of road and will involve a lane closure with temporary traffic lights on the single carriageway of a maximum length of 300 metres at any one time.
Highways Agency project manager, Mark Braithwaite, told The Local News: “We are carrying out this essential footway maintenance work at night when traffic is lightest to minimise delay to road users in the area.
“The scheme will only involve closure of one lane of the A52, so no diversion is required, although drivers should be aware of the traffic management and should plan their journeys accordingly and allow extra time.”

Pretty poor tarmacing in parts and weeds already growing the surface. Pretty poor value for money. Will the work be properly re done?
