CELEBRITIES SOCK IT TO THE FRAMEWORK KNITTERS MUSEUM
The Ruddington Framework Knitters Museum are hosting an exhibition of ‘Celebrity Socks’ and holding a special competition to win a pair. The museum is now home to the world famous stockings once worn by Queen Victoria, purchased at auction in 2008 for £8,000 and on permanent loan to the museum.
A number of celebrities including Archie Gemmill, Maureen Lipman, Marti Pellow and Andy Murray have kindly contributed a pair of their socks, plus a signed photograph. For a chance to win your own piece of historical hosiery, by matching the socks to the celebrity, visit the museum from Wednesday 31st March from 11am-4pm (museum is open from Wednesday to Saturday). Normal entrance fee charges apply (£3 adult, £2 children and £6 family ticket).
We’ve got the Eggs-Factor
Following the success of last year’s event, the museum will be holding their Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday 3rd April. Eggs-plore the museum, spot all the eggs hidden in the rooms and displays, then keep your eyes peeled in the garden for their Easter bunnies.
Every completed quiz sheet receives a prize and refreshments will also be available. Start anytime from 11am to 3.30pm. Normal entrance fee charges apply. Museum is located on Chapel Street (post code: NG11 6HE).
