NEWS FROM BINGHAM AND DISTRICT CHORAL SOCIETY

Everyone enjoyed December’s carol concert in St. Mary’s and All Saints Church in Bingham. The capacity audience were very appreciative and joined in with the choir to sing the Hallelujah Chorus by Handel in support of Children-in-Need. The retiring collection came to over £330 and everyone enjoyed the wine (or juice) and mince pies.
With Christmas out of the way, the society have started learning Samson, by G. F. Handel, for their performance in Radcliffe in May. New members are welcome to join ahead of the event and for more information visit the website at www.binghamchoral.org.uk.
They also have their annual music workshop on Saturday 13th February at Carnarvon School, Nursery Road, Bingham, from 10.15am until 3.30pm, led by Jon Wakefield. He has catholic musical tastes which will be reflected in the scope of the workshop.
