NEWS FROM RUSHCLIFFE 50+ FORUM
Rushcliffe 50+ Forum returned to Edwalton for the third Open Forum of the year and the subject ‘Money’ was the theme chosen for the event. The first talks of the afternoon were by Independent Financial Advisors (IFAs), Grenville Lunn and Chris Stephens. They explained in clear terms how an IFA can help with financial problems and give guidance on investments.
Sally Marshall of Nottinghamshire County Council gave a brief introduction to the subject of ‘Benefits’ and followed that with a one-to-one session answering people’s specific queries.
Jackie and Viv, nutrition assistants from Notts Community Health, addressed the subject of eating healthily on a tight budget by giving a practical demonstration of how to make a low-cost nutritious stew. Not only was the stew nutritious, it was delicious.
The speakers had all brought along a wealth of published information for attendees to take away. In addition Rushcliffe Borough Council had an information stall on benefits and energy saving.
