LOCAL COMPANY THRIVING FOR 2010
One local company viewing the challenges of 2010 in a particularly positive light is The Media Group (TMG), based on the Wilford Business Park. Despite the difficult economic climate, TMG has recently announced three new administrative appointments, taking their staff numbers in the organisation to more than 70.
Managing director Keith Daniell says that he is excited about the prospect of working with existing and new clients in the New Year. “We will be revising our strategies in a number of areas as we believe there is an opportunity to develop and expand even further,” he said. “It has been encouraging that existing clients have come back to our media and events department with larger projects. We are currently working on a film for The Football Association dealing with their Respect programme, as well as developing communications strategies for a number of organisations.
“During 2010 we will be extending our work with Dame Kelly Holmes, as well as staging events for the Central Council of Physical Recreation (CCPR). Last year finished for us with two events involving England manager Fabio Capello – with the World Cup coming up there could be even more opportunities.”
TMG, who also carry out CRB checks on behalf of such organisations as The FA, The Driving Standards Authority and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), has just been approved ISO 27000 accreditation – a recognition of information security.
“With regular scare stories of data leaks and identity theft this is an important demonstration of how ability to safeguard sensitive data,” says Keith.
“The whole point of ISO 27000 is to make sure we work more smartly – aware of our responsibilities for looking after information. It also means that our clients know we’re going to give them a great service and real value for money.
“I am confident that we will push forward on all fronts with more clients, expansion and with larger projects.”
