BINGHAM RADCLIFFE BUSES DOUBLED
The X1 bus service from Bingham and Radcliffe to Nottingham is changing this month with more buses and a new name. The Premiere service is very popular with low fares and convenient stops in Nottingham City Centre, train station, Broadmarsh, Victoria Centre and on Friar Lane.
From Monday 25th January the service is renamed the ‘red1’ (as Bingham people refer to Premiere buses as the red ones), and the Monday to Saturday daytime frequency is boosted to every 15 minutes. At peak times there are now buses up to every 10 minutes to provide more seats at the busiest times. There is also a new hourly evening service with the last bus from Nottingham at 11pm Monday to Saturday.
In Bingham, the company has listened to residents concerns about the number of vehicles using Willow Road, so all daytime buses will terminate in Bingham Market Place.
The new service also coincides with the launch of a new money saving unlimited travel card from Premiere. The new ‘Premiere Card’ is valid on all premiere buses at all times and can be purchased for 28 days, three, six or 12 months. The savings made can mean customers from Bingham and Radcliffe to Nottingham can enjoy unlimited travel for just over £8 per week.
The company is also working with local shops and businesses to offer Premiere Card holders discounts on their goods and services. There is also a ‘termcard’ for under 18’s with unlimited travel for a whole term and even during school holidays, and for over 60’s there is a ‘Goldcard’ giving half price travel before 9.30am (a concession that the County Council is ending in April), they can also claim discounts on Premiere holidays and day trips. To apply for the Premiere Card or for more details about ‘red1’ call 0115 985 1111.
