END OF AN ERA – DISAPPOINTMENT FOR GIRLS IN RADCLIFFE

Brownies all over the country will be celebrating 100 years of Girl Guiding in 2010, but the girls of the 1st Radcliffe-on-Trent unit will not be joining in the fun as the unit will close its doors on 14th December for the last time.
Guiders in the village have tried to put together a rescue package to save the unit, which has been running for over 50 years, but without success. Appeals for new adult leaders have had no response.
Brownies is ever-popular and there is no shortage of girls aged 7-10 wanting to be Brownies in the village, but the remaining two units cannot accommodate them all.
